The Milwaukee Bucks waived swingman Shabazz Muhammad on Thursday, the team announced.
Muhammad joined the Bucks last March after being waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He averaged 8.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11 games with Milwaukee.
Muhammad, 25, spent 4 1/2 seasons with the Timberwolves. He averaged 13.5 points in 38 games in 2014-15, 10.5 points in 82 games the following season and 9.9 points in 78 games in 2016-17.
His role was reduced last season under coach Tom Thibodeau, and he averaged 3.8 points and shot just 38.8 per cent from the field in 32 games.
Overall, the former UCLA star is averaging 9.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 278 career games (16 starts).
Milwaukee has 19 players on the roster. The Bucks open the season Wednesday with a road game against the Charlotte Hornets.
