Less than three days after he was arrested on domestic violence charges, linebacker Reuben Foster was claimed off waivers Tuesday by the Washington Redskins. The San Francisco 49ers released Foster on Sunday morning, hours after his arrest at the team hotel in Tampa, Fla.

First sports betting integrity group launched in United States

U.S. sportsbook operators on Tuesday announced the formation of a new national non-profit organization to help monitor integrity and fight fraud as the country's new sports wagering market expands. The group, called the Sports Wagering Integrity Monitoring Association, or SWIMA, will partner with state and tribal gaming regulators, law enforcement and other stakeholders.

MLB notebook: MLB, MGM enter gambling partnership

Add Major League Baseball to the list of professional sports leagues partnering up with gaming operators. The league announced Tuesday a multi-year partnership with MGM Resorts International, the same company with whom the NHL struck a similar deal in June and the NBA partnered with in October.

Canucks F Boeser returning after 11-game absence

Vancouver forward Brock Boeser will return to the ice after an 11-game absence due to a groin injury when the Canucks host the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night. Boeser reinjured the groin on Nov. 2 and has played in just 13 of 26 games this season. He initially suffered the injury two weeks earlier, which caused him to miss games on Oct. 24 and 25.

Minjee Lee has become the first woman to win Greg Norman Medal as the best Australian golfer on the international stage after a brilliant year that saw her break into the top 10 of the world rankings. The 22-year-old, who rose to number six in the world in 2018, joins twice-winner Jason Day and Marc Leishman in the list of winners of Australian golf's most prestigious individual honor.

Report: Bucs’ Winston settles with Uber driver

Jameis Winston reached a settlement with an Uber driver who claimed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback groped her in Arizona in 2016, according to multiple reports. The woman - identified only as Kate P. - filed a sexual battery lawsuit against Winston in September. She was seeking $75,000 in damages after accusing Winston of grabbing her crotch while they waited in a drive-through of a fast food restaurant in March 2016.

NHL roundup: Maple Leafs double up Bruins

Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah asked delegates at the Association of National Olympic Committee (ANOC) general assembly on Wednesday to allow him to step down as president temporarily while he contests a legal case in Switzerland. The Kuwaiti sports powerbroker has denied any wrongdoing and, without giving any further details, said allegations against him in the court case were politically motivated.

NBA roundup: Wizards overcome Rockets, Harden in OT

John Wall had 36 points and 11 assists, Bradley Beal added 32 points, and the Washington Wizards rallied from an early 17-point deficit to defeat the visiting Houston Rockets 135-131 in overtime Monday. The Wizards overcame a season-high 54 points from Rockets guard James Harden.
