Kedar Jadhav, the seasoned Indian and Maharashtra batter, officially retired from international cricket on Monday. The announcement comes four years after his last stint with the national team.
Jadhav made his international debut in November 2014 against Sri Lanka, amassing 1,389 runs in 73 ODIs and 122 runs in nine T20Is throughout his career.
Jadhav, long regarded as being close to former India captain MS Dhoni, opted for a Dhoni-like, cryptic retirement announcement on social media. 'Thank you all for your love and support throughout my career from 1500 hrs. Consider me as retired from all forms of cricket,' posted Jadhav on X.
Currently leading the Kolhapur Tuskers in the Maharashtra Premier League, Jadhav's announcement didn’t clarify the status of his ongoing engagements.
In his international career, Jadhav's standout moment came in a January 2017 ODI against England, where he scored a stellar 120 off 76 balls to secure a win. Additionally, his off-spin bowling gathered him 27 ODI wickets.
Jadhav's IPL journey saw him play for franchises like Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, further cementing his versatility and skill.
