Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica have canceled their divorce plans and are committed to working on their marriage. They filed for a voluntary dismissal of the divorce case on Tuesday.

This development follows dramatic headlines in May when news of their potential split surfaced just before the last major tournament. Two days before the commencement of the U.S. Open, it was confirmed that the divorce proceedings had ceased in Palm Beach County, Florida.

In a statement to The Guardian, McIlroy addressed recent rumors, labeling responses to such speculation as futile. ''Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning,” he shared, highlighting their commitment to their four-year-old daughter, Poppy.

At the PGA Championship, McIlroy confirmed the resolution of their issues while expressing his wish to handle the situation respectfully. Interestingly, he refrained from mentioning it during his press conference earlier Tuesday.
