Rahil Gangjee Triumphs at PKNS Selangor Masters in Thrilling Finish
Rahil Gangjee captured the PKNS Selangor Masters title despite a shaky final round marked by six bogeys. His steady performance over the initial rounds allowed him to edge out competitors, finishing at 8-under, one shot ahead of Deyen Lawson.
Rahil Gangjee clinched the PKNS Selangor Masters title on Saturday, despite recording six bogeys during a nerve-wracking final round. Gangjee, who started the day with a five-shot lead, finished at 8-under to win by one shot over Australia's Deyen Lawson, who shot a 69.
The 45-year-old veteran golfer appeared to be in top form earlier in the tournament, but faltered as his lead quickly vanished. By the turn, Gangjee found himself tied with Thailand’s Runchanapong Youprayong, thanks to several bogeys.
However, Gangjee managed to regain his composure with crucial birdies on holes 12, 13, and 16, keeping him slightly ahead. Despite bogeying the final two holes, he held on to secure the victory, finishing with an overall score of 272, narrowly beating Lawson who ended at 273.
