Following a 23-run loss to India in the third T20I on Wednesday, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza stated that conceding an extra 20 runs in the first innings ultimately cost them the match. Raza, who excelled with two wickets for 24 runs in his four-over spell, also scored 15 runs off 16 balls, hitting three boundaries in the second innings.

Post-match, Raza expressed pride in his team's fielding despite acknowledging persistent top-order issues. "Our fielding has been strong, but today we gave away 20 extra runs, which led to our 23-run defeat. Although we have top-order problems, I have faith in our players to bounce back," Raza said. He noted that they had tried 15 different opening pairs in the past year and a half.

Raza emphasized the need for senior players to minimize mistakes and take on more responsibility. "Youngsters making errors is acceptable, but senior players, including myself, need to step up. We picked three openers for a reason, and they should be given a chance. Muzarabani has been exceptional, even if the rewards are not immediate," Raza added.

In the match recap, India chose to bat first, with a 67-run partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal (36 off 27 balls) and skipper Shubman Gill setting the tone. Shubman (66 off 49 balls) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (49 off 28 balls) later formed a 72-run partnership, leading India to 182/4 in their 20 overs. For Zimbabwe, Blessing Muzarbani (2/25) and Sikandar Raza (2/24) were the standout bowlers.

In their chase of 183 runs, Zimbabwe stumbled to 39/5. A 77-run partnership between Dion Myers (65* off 49 balls) and Clive Madande (37 off 26 balls) briefly revived Zimbabwe's hopes. However, Indian bowlers struck back, restricting Zimbabwe to 159/6 in 20 overs. Washington Sundar (3/15) and Avesh Khan (2/39) were India's top bowlers, with Khaleel Ahmed also claiming a wicket.
