For the fourth consecutive Summer Olympics, Team USA will be sending a roster featuring more women than men.

The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) announced on Wednesday that the 592-member contingent, heading to Paris later this month, will include 314 women and 278 men. The lineup spans ages from 16 to 59 and includes representatives from 46 states. Among the athletes are 66 Olympic champions who have collectively earned 110 gold medals, along with three five-time Olympians, including basketball star Diana Taurasi and equestrians Steffen Peters and McLain Ward.

The opening ceremony in Paris is scheduled for July 26, where athletes will assemble on boats sailing along the Seine River towards the Eiffel Tower. The competition will begin on July 24 and conclude on August 11. Team USA is projected to top the medal table, with Nielsen's Gracenote forecasting 123 medals, including 37 golds.

USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland praised the athletes' achievements and the support from their families, teammates, coaches, and communities. “In the true spirit of 'One for All,' we join a proud nation of fans in cheering them on through inspiring performances and unforgettable moments,” she stated.

The roster includes a mix of youth and experience, with 16-year-old gymnast Hezly Rivera being the youngest athlete and 59-year-old equestrian Steffen Peters as the oldest. Swimmer Katie Ledecky leads the medal count with seven gold and three silver medals. California will send the most athletes at 120, followed by Florida and Texas. The team also features a notable number of college athletes, with 75% having competed at the college level.
