India's preparation for the Olympics should be a continuous process, and authorities must not wake up just months before the 'greatest show on earth,' former Olympians emphasized.
At a panel discussion titled 'In search of glory: India's prospects in the 2024 Olympics' organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce, sports icons highlighted the need for inculcating a sports culture among the youth, bolstered by appropriate infrastructure and grounds at educational institutions.
Hockey legend Gurbux Singh, a member of the 1964 gold-winning and 1968 bronze-winning hockey teams, stated, 'We wake up when the Olympics comes. The whole country wakes up. That attitude must change,' underlining the need for consistent effort and support for sports.
