Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz secured his second consecutive Wimbledon title after defeating Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) on the prestigious Centre Court in London on Sunday. Alcaraz is now only the sixth man to achieve consecutive victories at both the French Open and Wimbledon.

The Spaniard began the match assertively, capturing the first set 6-2 with a double break, closing it out in just 41 minutes. He maintained his form in the second set, winning another 6-2 as Djokovic struggled to find his rhythm and failed to stage a comeback.

Djokovic made an attempt to recover in the third set, starting strong and putting up a stiff resistance. However, Alcaraz remained composed, pushing the match into a tiebreak which he won 7-4. This clinched the Wimbledon 2024 final in straight sets, showcasing Alcaraz's dominance throughout the game.

During the semi-finals, Alcaraz overcame fourth-seeded Daniil Medvedev despite losing the first set, eventually triumphing 6-7, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4. Meanwhile, Djokovic outplayed Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets 6-4, 7-6, 6-4 to secure his place in the final. Notably, Alcaraz's victory marks his second Grand Slam title, following his recent French Open win over Alexander Zverev. His triumph thwarted Djokovic's pursuit of a fifth consecutive Wimbledon title and underscored his rising stature in the tennis world.
