Former India star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has named his all-time playing XI, featuring Pakistan's legendary pacer Wasim Akram while omitting his former captain MS Dhoni. This announcement followed Yuvraj's leadership of India Champions to a triumphant 2024 World Championship of Legends title, defeating arch-rivals Pakistan Champions by 5 wickets in the final.

Among the players chosen by Yuvraj are cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, Australian greats Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist, spin legends Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan, and fast-bowling stalwarts Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akram. India's own Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and current skipper Rohit Sharma were the only players from the nation included in Yuvraj's ultimate XI.

The announcement took place after the final match, as Yuvraj disclosed his selection to the media. Tendulkar, revered as the 'God of Cricket,' remains the highest run-scorer in Test and ODI history with 18,426 runs in ODIs and 15,921 runs in Tests. Australian luminaries like captain Ricky Ponting and wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist are also notable picks, both celebrated for their distinguished careers and remarkable contributions to the sport.

Yuvraj’s lineup also highlights the prowess of contemporary cricketer Virat Kohli, who continues to rack up impressive statistics in both Test and ODI formats. Alongside Kohli, Australian legends like Gilchrist, who has three consecutive ODI World Cup wins, lend immense credibility to Yuvraj's XI.

The bowling lineup is fortified by the renowned spin duo of Muralitharan and Warne, the leading wicket-takers in Test history. The formidable pace pair of Wasim Akram and Glenn McGrath also make the cut, boasting a combined tally of over 900 wickets. (ANI)
