Nagal and Drzewiecki Exit Nordea Open in First Round

Sumit Nagal and his partner, Karol Drzewiecki, were eliminated in the first round of the Nordea Open after a straight-set loss. Nagal remains in the singles event, where he will face Mariano Navone. Veteran Rohan Bopanna's doubles match has been postponed, while Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay Sundar Prashanth advanced in their event.

Olympic-bound Indian tennis player Sumit Nagal and his Polish partner Karol Drzewiecki were eliminated in the first round of the Nordea Open following a straight-set defeat.

The Indo-Polish pair lost 3-6, 4-6 to the French duo of Alexandre Muller and Luca Van Assche in a 59-minute round of 16 match on Tuesday. The 26-year-old Nagal, however, remains in contention in the singles event. He currently ranks 68th in the ATP singles chart and will face world number 36 Mariano Navone from Argentina next.

In parallel events, veteran players Rohan Bopanna and N Sriram Balaji's first-round men's doubles match at the Hamburg Open against the German duo of Jakob Schnaitter and Mark Wallner has been postponed to Thursday. Additionally, the Indian pair of Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay Sundar Prashanth advanced to the main draw after defeating the Spanish team of Sergio Martos Gornes and Jaume Munar, 4-6, 6-2, 10-8.
