Sports Minister Mandaviya Inaugurates KIRTI Phase Two Ahead of Paris Olympics

Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will inaugurate the second phase of the Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) programme, which aims to assess 20 lakh young athletes across India. The programme uses data analytics and AI to predict sporting talent and is part of Prime Minister Modi's vision to promote mass participation in sports.

Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is set to inaugurate the second phase of the Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) programme on Friday, taking advantage of the buzz around the upcoming Paris Olympics.

The initiative aims to conduct 20 lakh assessments nationwide throughout the year, identifying promising athletes through Talent Assessment Centres. The first phase of KIRTI, launched by Mandaviya's predecessor Anurag Thakur in Chandigarh on March 12, has already seen significant progress.

Utilizing data analytics and AI, the programme's transparent selection methodology aims to scout future sports stars. In its initial phase, KIRTI conducted 51,000 assessments out of 3,62,683 registrations across 70 centres. Maharashtra, Haryana, and Assam led the way in assessments. The programme aligns with Prime Minister Modi's vision of broadening sports participation among youth and achieving excellence through structured programmes.
