Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate are set to join the support staff of newly-appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir for India's upcoming white ball tour to Sri Lanka, which begins on July 27.
Nayar, a former Indian cricketer, and Doeschate, a hard-hitting all-rounder from the Netherlands, have previously collaborated with Gambhir at Kolkata Knight Riders. They are expected to join the tour as assistant coaches, bringing their extensive experience and close rapport with Gambhir to the team.
While the role of bowling coach remains undecided, Gambhir has suggested former Indian seamers or South African pacer, Morne Morkel, who is likely to take up the role. The team is set to travel to Colombo from Mumbai on July 22, with Nayar and Dilip expected to accompany the team.
