The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a significant financial contribution in support of Indian athletes headed to the 2024 Paris Olympics. The cricketing body has committed Rs 8.5 crore to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to aid their campaign, with the Games scheduled to begin on July 26.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah took to social media platform 'X' to share the news. "I am proud to announce that the @BCCI will be supporting our incredible athletes representing #India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are providing INR 8.5 Crores to the IOA for the campaign," Shah stated.
India's Olympic contingent will consist of 117 athletes and 140 support staff, totaling a 257-member team. "To our entire contingent, we wish you the very best. Make India proud! Jai Hind!" Shah added.
