Mark Carnevale, a former PGA Tour victor and accomplished radio announcer for Sirius XM, died on Monday at 64. His sudden passing came just a week after his last tournament broadcast, according to the PGA Tour.

Carnevale was celebrated for winning the 1992 Chattanooga Classic and being named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. He also had success on the Korn Ferry Tour, further solidifying his golf legacy.

Recently, Carnevale gained prominence as a lead announcer for Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio since 2005. His last assignment was from the penultimate group at the Scottish Open, and he was expected to cover the 3M Open in Minnesota this week. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan lauded Carnevale for his unique insight and engaging wit in golf commentary. Born in Annapolis, Maryland, and raised in Williamsburg, Virginia, Carnevale played college golf at James Madison.
