Bihar's Sporting Future: Landmark Budget Boost for Infrastructure

The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) president, Rakesh Tiwari, lauded Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's Union Budget, calling it a historic moment for Bihar's sporting community. Unveiled on Tuesday during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, the budget marks the first for the Modi 3.0 government and Sitharaman's seventh consecutive one.
Tiwari expressed gratitude to the Finance Minister, describing the investment in sports infrastructure as a crucial step toward nurturing Bihar's sporting talent. "I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Finance Minister for the significant investment announced in the sports infrastructure in the Budget 2024. This is a historic moment for the entire sports community of our state," Tiwari said in a release from BCA.
He emphasized the importance of these developments, noting that the new facilities will provide necessary resources for athletes at all levels. "The advanced infrastructure will provide our athletes with the necessary resources for training, competition, and excelling at national and international levels. This initiative will undoubtedly foster a vibrant sports culture in our state," he added. Besides sports infrastructure, the budget also includes plans for new airports and medical colleges in Bihar, transforming the state into a key driver of 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).
Specifically for cricket, Tiwari highlighted that the new facilities will offer better training grounds, modern amenities, and high-quality infrastructure essential for player development. "Our players will now have access to better training grounds, modern amenities, and high-quality facilities, essential for their growth and progress. This announcement aligns perfectly with our vision to elevate Bihar cricket to new heights and to prepare world-class cricketers," he said.
On behalf of the BCA, Tiwari reiterated the commitment to support this initiative and collaborate with the government to realize these plans. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also commended Finance Minister Sitharaman and her team for their dedication, stating that the budget aims to empower all sections of society. (ANI)
