Indian paddlers are gearing up for the Paris Olympics with ace player Manika Batra set to face Great Britain's Anna Hursey in the women's singles opening round. Batra, who is seeded 18th, had made history by reaching the round of 32 in the Tokyo Olympics.

Veteran Sharath Kamal will clash with Slovenia's Deni Kozul in the men's singles. In other matches, Harmeet Desai will face Jordan's Abo Yaman, and Sreeja Akula will compete against Sweden's Christina Kallberg.

The Indian men's team, led by Kamal, will face top-ranked China. Meanwhile, the women's team, featuring Batra, Sreeja Akula, and Archana Kamath, will take on Romania. This marks the first time India competes in the team event at the Olympics.
