Deandra Dottin's Triumphant Return to West Indies Cricket
Deandra Dottin, a West Indies all-rounder, will make her comeback to international cricket after two years of retirement. The 33-year-old, the second-highest run-scorer for the West Indies women's team, rejoined the national squad ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh, starting October.
Deandra Dottin, a West Indies all-rounder, is set to make a much-anticipated return to international cricket after a two-year hiatus, as announced by Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Saturday. At 33, Dottin stands as the second-highest run-scorer for the West Indies in women's limited-overs cricket, second only to Staphanie Taylor. Her return comes just in time for the Women's T20 World Cup in October, to be held in Bangladesh.
Dottin initially retired in July 2022 after a 14-year international career but continued to shine in franchise cricket leagues around the globe. Her decision to rejoin the West Indies team followed extensive discussions with CWI officials, including the governing body's president, Kishore Shallow.
'I am eager to return to the game that I love and contribute my utmost to the West Indies women’s team across all formats, with immediate effect,' Dottin stated in a heartfelt letter shared by CWI.
