IOC President Thomas Bach condemned the 'hate speech' directed at boxers Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting during a news briefing on Saturday, calling it 'totally unacceptable.'

Khelif of Algeria and Lin of Taiwan were disqualified at the 2023 world championships following unspecified and unproven gender-based tests, fueling controversy.

Bach stressed that both boxers, who have long competed as women, should not be subjected to politically motivated disputes. The Russian-led International Boxing Association's previous actions against them were also highlighted. Both athletes competed at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 without winning medals.
