Manu Bhaker, who narrowly missed the bronze medal in the women's 25m pistol event at the Paris Olympics, expressed her dissatisfaction with her performance. Despite winning two medals at the global event, Bhaker feels that finishing fourth is not a satisfactory outcome. 'Fourth place is not a very good place,' she said.
In an interview with JioCinema, Bhaker shared mixed feelings about her achievements. 'I am happy to have won two medals at the Olympics, but the result in the 25m pistol event leaves me less than content,' she stated. Bhaker was close to becoming the first Indian to clinch three Olympic medals but lost out in a shoot-off against Veronika Major of Hungary.
Jiin Yang of South Korea won the gold medal, while France's Camille Jedrzejewski took the silver. Bhaker had earlier opened India's medal tally by securing third place in the women's individual 10m air pistol event and later won a bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh. The Paris Olympics marked a significant rebound for Bhaker, whose gun malfunctioned in the Tokyo Olympics, costing her valuable time and a top-eight finish.
