Two-time Olympic 100 champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce's quest for another title ended abruptly Saturday when she pulled out before the 100-meter semifinal at the Paris Games due to an undisclosed injury.

The official scoreboard displayed 'Did Not Start' moments before she was set to race against Sha'Carri Richardson and Julien Alfred. Team manager Ludlow Watts told the Jamaica Observer that a team doctor is addressing the injury, promising more information soon.

Alfred went on to beat Richardson in both the semifinal and the final to take the gold medal. Fraser-Pryce, who has announced this as her fifth and final Olympics, thanked her supporters in a social media post early Sunday morning but did not provide specifics about her injury. She expressed her deep disappointment and gratitude for her fans' steadfast support since her Olympic debut in 2008.
