Sri Lanka managed to post 240/9, thanks to contributions from tailenders Dunith Wellalage (39) and Kamindu Mendis (40). In response, Indian captain Rohit Sharma initiated a strong powerplay, but Vandersay's spell turned the game around.
Rohit fell to Vandersay while attempting a reverse sweep, triggering a collapse. Vandersay removed five key Indian batters, including Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
