Playing at the South Paris Arena, India initially surged ahead with a 2-0 lead as the pairs of Sreeja Akula-Archana Kamath and Manika Batra comfortably won their matches 3-0 each. Romania then staged a spirited comeback, leveling the score at 2-2 by winning the next two singles matches. Akula was narrowly defeated 3-2, while Kamath lost 3-1.
