In a celebratory event in New Delhi, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, honored the Indian Men's Hockey Team for their remarkable bronze medal victory at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The team's arrival at New Delhi Airport marked the start of nationwide jubilation on Saturday morning.

Mandaviya lauded the athletes for their exemplary dedication and tenacity, which have made the nation proud on a global platform. 'The entire nation is proud of your achievement,' Mandaviya remarked, per a PIB release. 'Your victory is a testament to your perseverance, teamwork, and indomitable spirit. You have brought immense glory to India and inspired millions to pursue their dreams.'

The Union Minister also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the coaching staff and support team in aiding the squad's success. He reiterated the government's unwavering support towards advancing hockey and fostering sports talent across the country. 'Hockey is more than just a sport for us--it's a symbol of our national pride. The team's hard work, commitment, and passion have culminated in this historic achievement,' emphasized Mandaviya.

'India's hockey team has returned from the Paris Olympics today after securing a bronze medal. I met and congratulated the players. The entire country is feeling proud,' Mandviya told reporters. Earlier, goals from captain Harmanpreet Singh and stellar saves by PR Sreejesh ensured India's 2-1 victory over Spain, clinching the bronze at the Yves du Manoir Stadium.
