Jessica Pegula, the No. 3 seed and sixth-ranked WTA player, successfully defended her National Bank Open women's singles title by overcoming Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 in a gripping all-American final.

Pegula, hailing from Buffalo, New York, celebrated her second consecutive win at Canada's premier tennis event, improving her all-time record at the championship to 17-2. “So excited to be here with the trophy again,” she said. “I really wanted this one. It's nice to get through the week and to back it up.”
