Scottie Scheffler leads the pack as the No. 1 seed in the PGA Tour's postseason, eyeing the FedEx Cup and its $25 million prize. Yet, the coveted title remains elusive despite his stellar season.

With the playoffs kicking off Thursday at the St. Jude Championship, the top 70 players will compete, and the leading 50 will advance to the BMW Championship. From there, only the top 30 will reach the Tour Championship finale.

Scheffler, who has previously faced challenges at East Lake, feels optimistic about the course's recent renovation. He acknowledges the need for a balance between a season-long race and TV entertainment in the playoff structure.
