Chandigarh's Akshay Sharma maintained his lead at the Coimbatore Open on Friday despite challenging conditions, carding a one-under 71. This brings his total to 11-under 205, just one shot ahead of his nearest competitors.
Sachin Baisoya from Delhi delivered an impressive 67, placing him tied for second at 10-under 206 along with Dubai-based rookie Rayhan Thomas. Thomas, in his PGTI debut, managed a solid 69 to keep himself in the race.
Conditions were windy throughout the day, but Sharma, a two-time PGTI winner, demonstrated resilience by overcoming early setbacks. After three bogeys on the front-nine, he rallied on the back-nine with three birdies to secure his position at the top.
