Peter Wilson, the acclaimed British double trap shooter and Olympic gold medalist, has expressed keen interest in taking up the role of coaching the Indian shooting team for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Wilson, a former Olympic champion, aims to elevate the Indian team's performance by training both senior and junior shooters.

Wilson, who was the youngest competitor in his sport at the 2012 London Olympics, holds a world record in double trap and boasts a successful coaching career. Notably, he coached Nathan Hales to a gold medal at the recent Paris Olympics, ending a 12-year drought for Great Britain in the event.

He has formally applied for the coaching position with the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). The NRAI secretary-general, Sultan Singh, acknowledged receipt of Wilson’s application but highlighted that a decision would be made post the election of a new NRAI president.
