World number one Jannik Sinner overcame a persistent hip injury to defeat Alexander Zverev 7-6(9) 5-7 7-6(4) and secure a spot in the Cincinnati Open final. The Italian star credited his mental strength for pulling through the physically taxing match.

Sinner has been leading the ATP Tour with four titles this season and stated that this victory means a lot during a challenging period. "It's very different, what I'm going through, so I'm very happy about this result," Sinner said in his on-court interview.

Despite Sinner's right hip issues, he managed to break Zverev's serve at crucial points, eventually winning the match in three hours and seven minutes. He will face Frances Tiafoe, who beat Holger Rune, becoming the first American to reach the Cincinnati final since 2013.
