As the new Indian Super League (ISL) season approaches, Petr Kratky, the head coach of Mumbai City FC (MCFC), emphasizes the pivotal role of star player Lallianzuala Chhangte and outlines the team's attacking options during pre-season preparations. Chhangte, recently named All India Football Federation (AIFF) player of the year, is recognized as one of the top Indian footballers, making his presence crucial. Speaking to ANI, Kratky highlighted Chhangte's leadership qualities and influence on the squad.

"He is very important. He's one of the leaders in the group, and his performances speak for themselves. He is well respected and an essential part of our team. With the national team and a new coach coming up, he's excited, fit, and ready. We support him through the entire season, hoping he'll excel again," Kratky said. The coach also addressed the team's attacking force, mentioning the depth of talent, including both established and emerging players.

"We have many players available for the attack. Our Indian players like Lallianzuala Chhangte, Bipin Singh, and Vikram Partap are very good. We have new additions like Noufal and Gyamar Nikum, as well as strikers like Nikolaos Karelis. I'm looking forward to seeing how the season unfolds," he noted. Reflecting on the challenge of leading the team to an ISL Trophy after taking charge midway through the last season, Kratky acknowledged the difficulties but expressed pride in the team's resilience.

"It wasn't easy. We faced hiccups after my arrival, but we made it work, and I'm very proud of the group. It's part of our job to navigate tough times, and we did. We're very happy with our progress," the head coach remarked. Providing an update on the team's pre-season training, Kratky discussed the players' readiness for the upcoming challenges.

"Pre-season has been very good. We started a couple of weeks ago and are now in the middle of preparations. The players are working very hard, knowing the next season will be tougher. There are still a few weeks to go, and we keep pushing. I'm very happy with their potential, but it's crucial to make it work," he said. As the new ISL season nears, the coach’s focus is on fine-tuning the team's tactics, building on last season's success, and ensuring players like Chhangte continue to play a pivotal role in their ambitions.
