The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday announced a significant restructuring in its senior cricket setup. Brendon McCullum, who has been the Test head coach since May 2022, will now also take charge of England's white-ball teams. His contract, now extended until 2027, will see him oversee both formats starting January 2025.
Marcus Trescothick will remain as the interim head coach for England's upcoming series against Australia and their West Indies tour. ESPNcricinfo revealed that former Australia captain Ricky Ponting and England's 2019 World Cup-winning skipper Eoin Morgan were also considered to replace Matthew Mott.
