Indian athletes exhibited exceptional performances at the Paralympic Games on Tuesday, securing a total of five medals. The highlight events included the men's high jump T63 and javelin throw F46.
Sharad Kumar and Mariyappan Thangavelu won silver and bronze in the men's high jump T63 category. Kumar set a new Paralympic record in T42 with a jump of 1.88m, surpassing Thangavelu's previous record of 1.86m.
Ajeet Singh and Sundar Singh Gurjar clinched the second and third spots respectively in the javelin throw F46 final. Deepthi Jeevanji also added to the tally with a bronze medal in the women's 400m T20 category, marking a significant achievement for the country.
