Harvinder Singh, India's first-ever Paralympic medallist in archery and a Tokyo Games bronze medallist, is making strides towards securing another medal by advancing to the quarterfinals.
Despite losing the first set to Tseng Lung-Hui of Chinese Taipei, Harvinder rebounded to clinch a 7-3 victory. He then overcame an initial deficit to defeat Indonesia’s Setiawan Setiawan 6-2 in the last-16 round.
Harvinder's journey is marked by resilience; from contracting dengue as a child to making his international debut in 2017. His family even turned their farm into an archery range during the COVID-19 lockdown to support his training. Today, he balances his athletic career while pursuing a Ph.D. in economics.
