Francesco Bagnaia spearheaded Ducati’s impressive performance by clinching pole position at the San Marino Grand Prix with a record-breaking lap time. The reigning world champion clocked in at one minute and 30.304 seconds, setting a new benchmark at the Misano circuit.
Franco Morbidelli from Pramac Racing secured the second-fastest time, while VR46 Racing's Marco Bezzecchi completed the Ducati front-row lockout. Reflecting on the achievement, Bagnaia acknowledged the significance for Valentino Rossi's academy, highlighting the rigorous training that paid off spectacularly.
Despite a recent crash at the Aragon Grand Prix, Bagnaia expressed satisfaction with his current form, while championship leader Jorge Martin and MotoGP rookie Pedro Acosta were also noteworthy contenders. Marc Marquez, after a mishap on turn 15, will start from ninth position.
