Yashasvi Jaiswal's Blistering Knock Puts India in Command in Weather-Hit Test
Yashasvi Jaiswal's rapid half-century propelled India to 138 for two in their first innings on day four of the weather-impacted second Test against Bangladesh. Bangladesh managed 233 in their first innings, with Mominul Haque scoring a century. India's aggressive batting aims to push for a win despite time constraints.
Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a rapid half-century to push India to a robust 138 for two during their first innings at tea on day four of the weather-altered second Test against Bangladesh on Monday.
Jaiswal's aggressive 52-ball 71, which featured 12 fours and two sixes, helped India maintain a scoring rate of over eight runs an over and left them trailing Bangladesh by just 95 runs. Earlier, Bangladesh was all out for 233, thanks largely to Mominul Haque’s patient century.
After two days of rain interruptions, the game finally resumed under clear skies. India’s intent to chase down Bangladesh's total quickly was clear as Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma attacked from the get-go, surprising the Bangladeshi bowlers. Despite some setbacks, India finished the session strongly, with Gill and Pant remaining unbeaten.
