In a thrilling display of tennis resilience, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Holger Rune kept their ATP Finals aspirations alive with crucial wins at the Swiss Indoors on Tuesday.
Despite ranking at No. 11, Tsitsipas managed to outlast Francisco Cerundolo in a tightly contested match, with scores of 6-3, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4). Meanwhile, 14th-ranked Rune showcased his skill by defeating Nicolas Jarry 6-4, 7-6 (3).
Both players are vying for a spot in the top-eight Finals next month in Turin, with Tsitsipas set to play against qualifier Botic van de Zandschulp and Rune facing Swiss wild card Dominic Stricker. In other matches, Ben Shelton triumphed over Tomas Martin Etcheverry in straight sets.
