Zimbabwe is gearing up to face Afghanistan in an eagerly anticipated multi-format cricket series this December and January. Marking a significant moment in Zimbabwean sports history, the series will include the nation's first home Boxing Day Test in 28 years, alongside its inaugural New Year's Test.
The Asian cricket powerhouses will battle Zimbabwe across all three formats, commencing with a three-match T20I series in Harare from December 9-12. Following this, the two teams will vie in a trio of ODIs at the same venue between December 15-19.
The competitive action intensifies in Bulawayo, starting from December 26, as the sides clash in two pivotal Test matches. With an even split in their Test histories, Afghanistan holds a commanding stance in the ODIs with 18 wins from 28, and a dominant record in T20Is, boasting 14 victories from 15 games.
