The Delhi High Court has demanded responses from the Centre and the All India Football Federation (AIFF) regarding a petition that claims Anilkumar Prabhakaran's appointment as AIFF's secretary general breaches the National Sports Code. The challenge, raised by Delhi Football Club director Ranjit Bajaj, insists on Prabhakaran's removal from the position.

Justice Sachin Datta issued notices to the Union sports ministry, AIFF, and Prabhakaran himself, requesting their replies within two weeks. Bajaj's legal representation argues that Prabhakaran's prior election to the AIFF Executive Committee disqualifies him from the administrative role.

Bajaj contends the sports ministry has banned re-appointing previous executive committee members to administrative posts, citing a similar action in the Table Tennis Federation of India case. Prabhakaran's involvement with Scoreline Sports further complicates the matter due to potential conflicts of interest. The court will revisit the case on March 4.
