The Champions Trophy makes a grand return for the first time since 2017, bringing with it a substantial prize pool of USD 6.9 million, as announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The tournament winners stand to earn USD 2.24 million, in addition to lifting the coveted trophy.
Runners-up will receive USD 1.12 million, while semi-finalists win USD 560,000 each. Every match holds significance, with a group stage victory earning over USD 34,000. The fifth and sixth-placed teams secure USD 350,000, while the seventh and eighth spots yield USD 140,000, guaranteeing each team a minimum of USD 125,000.
Pakistan hosts this two-week global cricket event for the first time since 1996, with matches slated in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. ICC Chair Jay Shah highlighted the financial incentives as crucial for cricket's growth, indicating the tournament's role in showcasing top ODI talent and enhancing the sport's global appeal.
