Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri appeared set for an impressive first round at the LIV Golf Adelaide, but his performance was overshadowed by a late quadruple bogey, finishing at 71 and tying for 20th place.

Lahiri had been 5-under through 15 holes, starting from the 13th with consecutive pars before achieving five birdies between the first and ninth holes. However, a quadruple bogey on the 10th—a par-5 and his 16th hole of the day—interrupted his momentum. He concluded the round with two pars.

The day's standout was Sam Horsfield, who led with the only bogey-free round, shooting 6-under 66. Notable performances came from Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and Brooks Koepka. Team Torque took the lead, thanks to strong showings from Captain Niemann and Carlos Ortiz.
