LAFC Tops MLS Valuation Rankings Despite Messi's Impact in Miami
Los Angeles FC remains Major League Soccer's most valuable team for the third consecutive year, with a valuation of $1.25 billion, surpassing Inter Miami, whose value surged thanks to Lionel Messi's influence. Despite Messi's success, Miami trails LAFC, with other top teams including LA Galaxy and Atlanta United FC.
Los Angeles Football Club has retained its position as the most valuable team in Major League Soccer for the third year running, according to Forbes' annual list. Valued at $1.25 billion, LAFC's worth rose by 4% from last year, nearly twice the $690 million average of the league's 29 teams.
Inter Miami, bolstered by Lionel Messi's arrival and resulting in unprecedented sponsorship deals and fan engagement, saw its value soar by 17% to $1.2 billion, earning them the second spot on the list. Miami's valuation has doubled since 2022, driven largely by Messi's presence.
Despite setting a record for regular-season points and Messi earning MVP honors, Miami faced a surprise playoff exit last year. The top five teams include LA Galaxy, Atlanta United FC, and New York City FC. The MLS's 30th season kicks off on Saturday.
