In a heartwarming return to cricket, legendary Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid stepped onto the field alongside his son Anvay in the 2024-25 Sri Nassur Memorial Shield tournament. The duo made headlines for playing together in this Group I-III Division 50-over competition, marking a rare father-son partnership in cricket.

Representing Vijaya Cricket Club against Young Lions Club, Dravid made a brief appearance at number six, scoring 10 runs off eight balls, including a boundary. His son Anvay showcased his prowess with a notable 58 runs off 60 deliveries, highlighting the familial bond on the cricket pitch. The club posted an imposing 345/7, with Swapnil Yelave's remarkable 107 adding to the team’s success.

This isn't Dravid's first return to his roots. Post his 2013 international retirement, he actively participated in club cricket. His elder son, Samit, follows in his footsteps, having represented India Under-19 and recently participated in the Maharaja T20 Trophy.
