In a historic Women's Premier League (WPL) encounter, UP Warriorz emerged victorious against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a gripping Super Over finish. This clash was a significant milestone as it marked the first WPL match decided in such fashion, ending the high-stakes contest in a dramatic tie.

The tension was palpable when UP Warriorz opted for Grace Harris and Chinelle Henry to bat first in the Super Over, setting a target of 8/1. RCB, however, fell short, managing only four runs, leading to UP Warriorz's memorable triumph.

Reflecting on the momentous finale, former Indian captain Mithali Raj acknowledged her initial doubts about the total being sufficient. She commented on the electrifying performance by Sophie Ecclestone, who delivered an exceptional over to secure the win, and highlighted the exhilarating atmosphere in the packed stadium.

UP Warriorz missed opportunities to seal the game earlier, particularly in the final ball of regulation play when Kranti Goud failed to connect with the bat. Despite these missed chances, Ecclestone's all-around brilliance shined through as she was instrumental both with the bat and ball, solidifying her match-winning efforts.

For RCB, captain Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh aimed to chase the nine runs needed for victory. However, Ecclestone's mastery with her spinning deliveries limited them to just three runs, ensuring UP Warriorz's win. It was an extraordinary night filled with thrilling performances and strategic plays.
