In a compelling display at the Ranji Trophy final, pacer Darshan Nalkande's double strike played a crucial role in reducing Kerala to 57/2 by the tea interval on the second day, after Vidarbha managed a total of 379 runs.
Vidarbha had a rocky start to the day, losing overnight centurion Danish Malewar early for 153, followed by two quick wickets. Their innings, however, stabilized with contributions from Yash Thakur and skipper Akshay Wadkar.
Kerala’s bowlers, led by Eden Apple Tom and MD Nidheesh, put up a formidable fight but were later unsettled by Nalkande's aggressive bowling, leaving Aditya Sarwate and Ahammed Imran to weather the storm.
