Injury Woes and Strategic Game Plan: LSG's Battle On the Field
LSG assistant coach Lance Klusener discusses the team's strategy amid significant injuries to key fast bowlers. Facing difficulties against the Delhi Capitals due to an insufficient score, the team plans to adapt by providing opportunities for young players and relying on their batters in upcoming games.
LSG assistant coach Lance Klusener has admitted that the team is grappling with multiple injuries, forcing them to 'mix and match' their game strategy. Fast bowlers Avesh Khan, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Akash Deep have all been struck with injuries, causing a considerable setback for the side.
On Monday, LSG struggled to defend a high score of 209 against Delhi Capitals, partly due to dew affecting play. Despite skipper Rishabh Pant's confidence in the total, Klusener stated they were short by 20 to 30 runs, which impacted their performance.
Klusener highlighted Hyderabad's upcoming match, emphasizing the necessity to empower young players, as seen with Shardul Thakur's impactful start. LSG aims to leverage their batting line-up to overcome current challenges and restore team momentum amidst tough circumstances.
