Indian Boxers Dominate World Boxing Cup Opening Bouts
Indian boxers Hitesh and Sachin Siwach delivered standout performances in their opening matches at the World Boxing Cup, each winning by unanimous decisions. Hitesh triumphed in the light middleweight division, while Sachin prevailed in the lightweight category. In women's competition, Minakshi and Muskan also secured victories, representing a strong start for India.
Indian pugilists Hitesh and Sachin Siwach showcased their prowess with commanding performances, each achieving unanimous decision victories during their preliminary contests at the World Boxing Cup on Monday.
Hitesh, who clinched gold during the Brazil leg earlier this year, decisively defeated Chinese Taipei's Kan Chia-Wei 5-0 in the light middleweight class at the Beeline Arena.
Matching his compatriot's success, Sachin, a bronze medalist from Brazil, convincingly overpowered Canada's Al-Ahmadieh Keoma-Ali, also with a 5-0 scoreline, in the lightweight division. Meanwhile, in the women's events, Minakshi earned a 5-0 victory against Australia's Madeleine Bowen in the light flyweight category, and Muskan narrowly outmaneuvered England's Kerry Davis 3-2 in a competitive middleweight clash.
