Atletico Madrid has reached a pivotal agreement to sign David Hancko, following his unexpected departure from Al-Nassr's training camp. The Slovak defender, previously linked with a move to the Saudi team, now joins Atletico on a deal subject to medical clearance.
Initially, Hancko was poised to transfer to Al-Nassr as per an agreement with Dutch club Feyenoord. However, the deal collapsed at the last minute, leaving Hancko in Austria, where Al-Nassr was holding its training sessions. According to reports, the agreement faltered despite the defender having already arrived at the camp.
This latest development is part of Atletico's strategic efforts to bolster their lineup. The La Liga club, which clinched a third-place finish last season, has been actively reinforcing its squad by signing emerging talents, such as Marc Pubill, Thiago Almada, Álex Baena, and Matteo Ruggeri.
