Marseille midfielder Ismaël Koné has commenced a new chapter in his career, signing a loan deal with Italian Serie A club Sassuolo. The move includes an option to purchase, offering the Canadian international a fresh opportunity after a challenging period in France.
Koné's journey at Marseille saw limited action, with just nine appearances since joining from Watford last year. He was loaned out to Rennes for the latter half of the previous season, seeking more playing time and a chance to showcase his skills.
While financial details of the deal remain primarily undisclosed, sources indicate that Marseille will earn 2.5 million euros from the loan, irrespective of Sassuolo's performance. A mandatory purchase clause worth 10 million euros might be triggered if specific conditions are met.
