Canada's Ethan Katzberg made history by clinching his third global hammer throw title in as many years. On Tuesday, he recorded a monumental throw of 84.70 meters, setting a championship record and becoming the fifth-longest thrower in history.

At just 23 years old, Katzberg consistently surpassed 81 meters with each of his six attempts, eventually ending with an 83.73-meter throw, securing gold even before his final attempt. This victory adds to his accolades, making him a world champion on either side of his Olympic triumph last year.

In Tokyo, it was a landmark event for Canada in the hammer throw, as Camryn Rogers mirrored Katzberg's achievement by securing a hat-trick of global titles. Meanwhile, Germany’s Merlin Hummel claimed silver with a new personal best of 82.77 meters, and Hungary's Bence Halasz earned a bronze with a throw of 82.69 meters.
