Indian Greco-Roman wrestlers faced tough competition at the World Championships, failing to secure any victories. On Thursday, none of the four participants could advance past their initial rounds.
Anil Mor delivered the weakest performance, eliminated in 13 seconds by world number one Eldaniz Azizli of Azerbaijan, who overpowered him with a headlock maneuver. Aman succumbed to technical superiority in the 77kg class against Japan's Nao Kusaka.
Rahul, competing in the 82kg category, lost 1-7 to Kazakhstan's Almir Tolebayev, but lasted the entire six minutes. Meanwhile, Sonu was defeated 0-8 by Croatia's Marko Koscevic in the 130kg class. In women's wrestling, Antim Panghal aims for a bronze medal against Sweden's Emma Jonna Denise Malmgren after Manisha Bhanwala was knocked out of contention by Bulgaria's Bilyana Dudova.
